Speeches

Firstly, I hope you all enjoyed your meal

Someone once said that standing up and giving a speech at a wedding is like walking into a Harlem, you know what you're there for, but you just don't know where to start.

I?ll have to keep this speech short because of my shins . . . Jeannette has threatened to kick them if I go on too long. What?s funnier is that you think I?m joking....

Families and friends. This has been a terrific day for Jim and I and we are both thrilled you could all be here. I wanted to say a few words in response to my Dad and thank a few people for all their support.

First speech is by the bride's father who proposes a toast to the couple

The groom replies and thanks the bride's parents, the guests for their gifts and toasts the bridesmaids.

The best man replies and may read greetings and organise the cutting of the cake.
