It's Christmas of 1183, and Henry II (Patrick Stewart) must find a
successor to his throne. He favors his youngest son John, while his wife,
Eleanor, believes that their eldest son, Richard the Lionhearted, would make
a better king.
While their disagreement plunges the family into a deceitful war of
wills, it becomes apparent that neither of their three conniving boys are
qualified for the job.
Director Andrei Konchalovsky remakes the 1968 in this 2003
television production.
