Witches, Margaret Jones

Margaret Jones 1648. The first witch to be executed in Massachusetts Bay Colony, she was accused of being a witch after patients under her care as their physician had gotten sicker.

The reason why many patients got worse was because they refused to take medicines prescribed for them.

Margaret Jones, wife of William Jones, who was executed as a witch 15 June, 1648, died wrongfully." for so saying Samuel STRATTON and his wife, Alice, were taken to court, fined,and commanded to admit that the court was right in executing Margaret Jones as a witch.

Alice had been saying, "Margaret Jones is no more a witch than I am." Samuel had been speaking
against the judges and the reasons why they had executed Margaret Jones
