British Weather

Traditionally :) the British weather is rain, rain and more rain, followed by a very hot day, then more rain. However this July (2006) we had the hottest month every recorded at 97F while we traditionally complain about the rain and grey skies, this month we had something better to complain about, it was far too hot !

Traditional weather forecasting

  • Red sky at night, sailors' delight. Red sky in the morning - sailors take warning.
  • Rain before seven, Stopped by eleven
  • St. Swithun's Day, if thou be fair. For 40 'twill rain na mair;St. Swithun's Day, if thou dost rain, For 40 it will remain
  • When the swallows fly high. The weather will be dry.
  • Oak before the Ash, then we'll only have a splash. Ash before the Oak, then we're sure to have a soak.
  • There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Far more accurate then any weather burro, who always get it wrong here.
