We all use them, and so did the medieval people, today's
toilets are nothing like they were.
For a start we have a good
drainage system, while Medieval people just threw it out the window
!In Medieval times people used potties, the streets had open
drains and so you just emptied your potty into them.
The
rich people may have had a plank of wood with a hole in it, hidden
an a room (garderobes) of their home, this emptied straight into the
street.
There was no plumbing !.
In the castles the contents may have dropped into a moat, or into a
cesspit, and gong
farmers were employed to empty them.
