Attacking and Defending a Castle, Catapult
The Catapult was a great weapon for destroying castles. These fired large stones or fireballs, and even dead sheep, cattle or diseased victims. A variety of catapults were developed, although the catapult has been used since ancient times, it has proven to be one of the most effective mechanisms during warfare. The word 'Catapult' comes from the two Greek words "kata" (downward) and "pultos" Katapultos was then taken to mean "shield piercer".
