I hate snakes :) Luckily we don't have many, most people are aware of the two most populous native snakes that inhabit the British Isles, The Adder and the Grass Snake, few people know of a third, The Smooth Snake.

Adder Grass Snake Smooth Snake

The Smooth Snake is a non venomous snake and is exceptionally rare in the British Isles, it’s sightings are not helped by the fact that it is mistaken with the adder at a glance, although it does not have the same distinct solid zigzag appearance on its back.
