Hedge Rows, Robins

The Robin is a plump bird with bright orange-red breast, face, throat and cheeks edged with grey, a white belly and olive-brown upper parts.

The UK's favourite bird !

Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.

Robins can be found in various habitats, including woodlands, parks and gardens. Robins are one of the earliest birds to nest, and their nests are made from sticks, grass, moss and dead leaves. Robins build their nests in areas with lots of shelter and easy access.

Who killed Cock Robin?" "I," said the Sparrow,
"With my bow and arrow, I killed Cock Robin."
"Who saw him die?" "I," said the Fly,
"With my little eye, I saw him die."
