Female
 Adders
are found in most parts of England, Scotland and Wales. Adders prefer rough
uncultivated ground, moorland, hillsides and sunny hedge-banks.
They are generally common along the cliff tops and the steep-sided combes
along the coast .
Male
 The
adder is an omen of good luck and it used to be believed
that you could defeat your enemies if you killed an
adder.
Many people also believe that if you find an adder
outside your house it was a sign that someone you know
would soon die
